The Lake Nona studio is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 6 PM. We are closed on Sundays. The early morning and after-6 PM slots are the most popular with Medical City staff and commuters, so booking about a week ahead is recommended for those times.

Small areas such as the upper lip or underarms sit at the lower end, while large areas like full legs or a full back sit at the higher end, and package pricing brings the per-session cost down compared with paying one session at a time. Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions to reach permanent hair reduction, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for the body and 3 to 4 weeks apart for the face. Hair grows in cycles and the laser only destroys follicles in the active growth phase, which is why a single session cannot treat every follicle. Expect visible shedding within one to two weeks of your first session and noticeably slower regrowth after three.

Yes, when the right laser is used. Riolaser Lake Nona runs the Splendor X platform, which carries both an Alexandrite laser at 755 nm and an Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm in a single device. The Nd:YAG wavelength reaches past the melanin in darker skin and targets the follicle without overheating surrounding tissue, which makes it the safer choice for Fitzpatrick skin types IV to VI. Your provider selects the wavelength during consultation based on your skin tone and hair colour, so skin types I through VI can be treated at this location. Most clients describe it as a warm snap rather than pain. Splendor X delivers cryogenic cooling through the handpiece at the moment of each pulse, which drops the skin surface temperature and blunts most of the sensation. Sensitive areas such as the upper lip, bikini line and underarms are more noticeable than legs or arms, and sessions scheduled in the week before your period tend to feel sharper. Small areas such as the upper lip or chin take about 5 to 10 minutes. Underarms and bikini take 10 to 15 minutes. Full legs, full back or a full-body plan run 30 to 60 minutes. Your first visit includes a consultation and patch test, so allow an extra 20 minutes for that appointment.

Shave the area 24 hours before your session, since the laser targets the follicle beneath the skin and surface hair only causes burning. Do not wax, pluck or use epilators for four weeks before treatment, because the follicle needs to be intact. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks, arrive with clean skin free of deodorant, lotion or make-up, and skip retinol on the treatment area for three days beforehand.

Expect mild redness and slight swelling around the follicles for a few hours. Apply a fragrance-free moisturiser, keep the area out of direct sun and use SPF 30 or higher for two weeks, and skip hot showers, saunas, pools and intense workouts for 48 hours.
