After building three studios across Greater Orlando, Riolaser is bringing laser hair removal to the Tampa Bay area. The new studio is at 10416 N Dale Mabry Hwy, in the Carrollwood stretch of North Tampa, close to Northdale, Lutz, Citrus Park, Town 'n' Country and Westchase. Treatments will run on the Splendor X platform, the same dual-wavelength system used in every Riolaser unit, so clients with any skin tone get a plan matched to their skin and hair. Tampa Bay is home to clients of every background, and skin tone changes which laser is safe. The Alexandrite wavelength works best on lighter to olive skin, while Nd:YAG passes through the melanin in deeper skin to reach the follicle with less risk of burns or dark spots. Yes. Our Lake Nona, Ocoee and Kissimmee studios are open now and use the same Splendor X equipment and treatment protocol. Ocoee, on the west side of Orlando, is the shortest drive from Tampa along I-4. Once the Tampa studio opens, you can continue your plan there without starting over. Tampa will follow the same pricing structure as our other studios. Cost depends on the size of the area and the number of sessions in your package: small zones like the upper lip or underarms are at the low end, while full legs or a full back cost more, and packages lower the price per session. Exact pricing is given at your free consultation, and financing options help spread the cost.
Most clients reach lasting hair reduction in 6 to 8 sessions. Body areas are usually treated every 4 to 6 weeks and the face every 3 to 4 weeks. The laser only affects follicles in the active growth phase, so several rounds are needed to catch every hair. Many clients notice shedding within two weeks of the first visit.
Yes, when the laser matches the skin. Splendor X combines a 755 nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. The Nd:YAG wavelength is absorbed far less by the melanin in the skin surface, which makes it the safer option for Fitzpatrick types IV to VI. Most clients feel a quick, warm snap. Splendor X cools the skin at the exact moment of each pulse, which takes the edge off. Thin-skinned areas such as the upper lip, bikini and underarms feel more intense than arms or legs, and numbing cream is rarely needed. Read what a session really feels like.
Shave the treatment area the day before. Avoid waxing, plucking and epilating for four weeks, because the laser needs the root in place. Stay out of strong sun and skip self-tanner for two weeks, which matters in the Florida climate, and come with clean skin free of lotion, deodorant or make-up. Pause retinol on the area for three days beforehand.
Mild redness and small bumps around the follicles usually fade within a few hours. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser, apply SPF 30 or higher daily, and avoid hot tubs, saunas, pools and heavy workouts for 48 hours. Treated hair falls out over the next one to two weeks.
